Datadump Timeout Error (HTTP timeout)

My datadump doesn't work. It spins and then gives an error message.
I cannot get my big datadump to work. I get a HTTP ERROR 500 message.
My event is large (2000+ attendees). Why won't the datadump work?

WHY THIS HAPPENS
This occasionally happens when you have a huge event with a lot of data. As explained in the Datadump Overview most of the preset reports should cover most of the needs you have and it is rare that a datadump should be needed. As such, the EventCORE system is not fine-tuned to manage events with a lot of attendees combined a lot of questionnaires. If you have that combination, it is possible that you may receive a timeout error.

But if it is necessary for you to get all of the data from an event into one spreadsheet, you can then perform an "All Data Export."

ALL DATA EXPORT
Administrators with All Site Access should have a link called "Other" in the far left yellow admin bar. When you click this link it will bring up a table of other admin options that you can perform. Enter the word "export" into the search bar on the far right. That will bring up an option titled "All Data Export to CSV File." Click the "Select" link to begin the download. Please note, it will appear as if nothing is happening! Be patient. It could take up to two minutes for the download to process. When finished, it will appear as a download in your browser download tray. It is now saved into your default download location. It will have a file name like "dumpexp999_888_2019-12-31 10-10-10" Where the 999 represents the site number and the 888 is your user id. The rest is the date and time the file was created.

If the All Data Export  option fails, you may have to use the "Restrictive View" which allows you to merge smaller runs together into a larger spreadsheet. It is explained here.

LIVE DATA IS BEST
This is a workaround for large event timeout problems. A key thing to keep in mind, is that this data is already obsolete the minute the next person logs into you site and updates a record. That's why we always recommend working with live data.

USING TIER 3 SUPPORT
Although this process is quite simple and fast once you know it, you may want to avoid the hassle and simply use Tier 3 support to do this for you. It most likely would be a minimal charge (.e.g. less than ten minutes). To make a request, simply "submit a ticket." Simply state that you would like Tier 3 Assistance for a datadump.
