Shared (Custom) Merchant Account

Is there a "Shared Merchant Account (SMA)"?
Can the SMA be personalized?
Can I use my Own Merchant Account?

Shared Merchant Account
EventCORE offers a "Shared Merchant Account (SMA)". The advantage of using this service is that you do not need to go through the process of setting up your own merchant account and you save the hassle of dealing with daily transaction deposits. You simply contact Tier 3 support and they will get this set up for you. There is a set fee of 4% of US Dollar transactions and 5% for Euros. Other currency's may be possible upon request. There also is a minimum service. To better understand reason the service fee structure you an read the "Credit Card Service Fee" answer.  We typically make a revenue payout (i.e. the money we collect on your behalf) at the conclusion of the event as explained here

If you are a Cru office, you may want to consider setting up your own merchant account. Go to the Staff Web and do a search on the word "Merchant Packet." The advantage is you'll incur lower service fees and get your money faster. The disadvantage is you have to deal with the financial reporting required by Financial Services.

Personalizing Your Account
What is "shared" with this arrangement is the bank and funds processing. What is not shared is the actual merchant account. Our service provider "Suggestion Tree" will set up a merchant account on your behalf. As such, you can choose how you want the name to appear on the attendees statement (i.e. how it reads on the receipt line in their statment). This will be handled by in initial Tier 3 request. This will greatly reduce the number of ChargeBacks because attendees will recognize the name of the event or sponsoring organization.

You may want to do something like "My Event 2016 (800-909-9090)" or "Event Runners 800-909-9090". Be descriptive enough that a person will recognize it and also include the phone number where they can call for more info.

Using Your Own Merchant Account
The EventCORE system is designed for you to use your own merchant account. At this time we offer connections via Authorize.net and Paypal. There is no Tier 3 charge for using your own merchant account unless you need assistance in setting it up within EventCORE.
