Upload File (image, photo, doc, pdf)
How do I upload a file?
And once uploaded, how do I access it?
What is the difference between uploading an image, main logo, document or stylesheet?
Overview
You have access to a very powerful and flexible file loader. The files for your particular site are stored in a sub-directory called custom and then your site name off of that. For example, if you were working in site 99, your files are stored in custom/site99/.
File Actions
To perform file actions (uploading and erasing) of your main logo, documents, media files and other items, you go to "Set Up -> Customize." In the section labeled Home Page Customization select the option for "Upload/Remove Photos and Docs." There are certain size limitations based on the type of files. Other restrictions may apply for security reasons. (e.g. Although possible to run your own custom scripts, they need to be uploaded by tech support).
File Name
It is very important that your file names NOT CONTAIN SPACES. Prior to uploading, if you have a file called, "my great picture.jpg" you will need to change it to "MyGreatPicture.jpg" or "my_great_picture.jpg". Spaces do not translate well in some browsers so they need to be avoided.
File Size
There is a 500KB limitation to the size of the file that can be uploaded throught the admin file uploader. Larger files have to be managed by a request to Tier 3 support. See note below* regarding file size.
How to Access Files
Once a file is uploaded, you can then access a picture from a message. You can also make them a direct link off the left info menu bar.
The instructions for connecting to a file are provided on the upload page, but we repeat them here as follows.

NOTE REGARDING FILE SIZE
The "size" of the file in terms of pixels wide and high is not the issue. Your file may very well show a size of 300 pixels by 300 pixels, but in reality it may be a very large file if the .jpg isn't optimized.
It is the amount of disk space the file takes up. A raw .PDF that contains high-resolution images may easily exceed 5MB (5000K) yet when flattened and optimized that file may come down in size to within our 500K limit. A flattened .jpg or .png file can also work just as well and be a mere 30% of the original file size.
If you try uploading too large a file, you'll get a warning that looks something like this:
Upload error: File size now allowed:593500
Filename Uploaded: MyBigFileLogo.jpg
In this example it shows the size as 593500 bytes. This converts to 5.93 megabytes which exceeds the 5MB limit. So this file upload would fail. You would need to optimize this file for it to work.
Tier 3 support can assist in optimizing your documents.
