Photo Editing Software

How do I edit the top bar logo?
Can you recommend any photo editing software?

There are some high powered photo editing programs that are used by professionals like, "Photoshop", "Fireworks", "CorelPaint", "Canon photo editor", etc. There are also budget ones available.

The recommendation of a particular photo editing software is best left in the hands of a designer or someone with design recommendations along with your personal preferences and platform.

We can say this though. First, Tier 3 support can do the editing for you. The cost is based on the complexity with a simple design being minimal cost.

Second, we did an experiment and produced the following graphic in about 90 seconds using an online editor called, "PicMonkey" (www.picmonkey.com).

Here are the Steps We Took to Complete this Logo in 90 seconds: Note, this assumed that you already had the background image (the picture of Hong Kong in our example) available as a picture.

  1. Download the blank logo below to your local computer (scroll down to the bottom of this page to grab and save the logo).
  2. Go to www.picmonkey.com.
  3. Click the "Edit a Photo" link on picmonkey.
  4. In the upload dialog window, select the blank logo you just saved to your computer.
  5. It will open the blank logo on the screen.
  6. If you want to place a background image or client specific logo in the white tab, click the "Overlays" button in the left icon menu (it's the 4th one down that looks like flowers).
  7. On the top of the "overlays" menu it says, "Your Own." Click that and then select the image from your local drive to place on the image.
  8. Resize and place the image; add any text or other features you desire.
  9. When to your liking, click the icon in the top image bar that looks like two pieces of paper with a down arrow. This is the "merge layers" button.
  10. Then click the "Save" link in the same top menu, select the location and name and make sure you are saving it as a .jpeg file.
  11. Once saved to your local drive, you can then upload it as a logo following these instructions.

If you need additional assistance for PicMonkey beyond these simple steps, it may require Tier 3 support unless the reason is one of the above instructions is incorrect.
