Access Rights

What are Access Rights?
How are they changed?
What does each one perform?

Access Rights control which administrative functions an individual is able to perform.  When a site is created, "Site Administrator Access" is turned on for the admin who just created that site.  They in turn can remain as the only gate keeper for access rights, or they can then in turn assign access rights to another.

To both add and update new access rights for a person on a specific site, click on the "Site Administrator Access" under the General Tab.  You will be taken to a page that lists the current admins for this site.

To update admin access rights for a current admin, use one of the two links provided to the right of their name.  The "Quick Update" link will load just the most popular options.  The "Full Update" loads the entire list of admin options for this site.

To add a new admin, you can use one of the two links that are located just under the page title.  The "Search & Add New User" allows you to do a search to find a users ID number.  The "Add with User ID" is a shortcut when you know the person's ID number already.

After searching, you will be provided with a listing of possible matches.  Click on the radio button for the user you wish to add and then click either the "Quick Fill" or "Full Fill" selection button below.  The "Quick Fill" will bring up the most popular items where "Full Fill" will bring up the entire list.  In most cases, you should be able to use the "Quick Fill" to give someone basic access.

If you cannot find a person by searching, it may be that they have not yet created a user profile.  Keep in mind that a full username/password login are needed.  If the person registered for this event by means of an "express (email only) login" or an external login (GCX, Yahoo, gMail, etc.), they cannot be granted admin access rights.  Only those who exist as valid users on this server can be given access.  Instructions for creating a new user, are provided here.  It also is possible to convert an express login to a username/password login.

(this answer is incomplete).

It will also eventually contain a listing of the access rights and what they do (or that may be embedded on screen) with a help icon.
