Register As Options
What are the "Register As" options? How do they work?
What is the difference between these options: Single, Couple, Group & Family
When you are setting up a site, you have the option of choosing the type of "Register As" options that appear when a new registration is started. If no selection is made, the default option is "Single" and a drop down does NOT appear. But if you choose to make a selection, you can identify which of the following four options you wish to appear. The selected action creates an expanded box that asks for additional information.
- Single: This produces a form for a single, one-person registration.
- Couple: Produces fields for the name and email address of both individuals. On the subsequent attendee info pages, address, home phone and other shared information is only asked on the primary registration.
- Family: Additional fields are displayed requesting the number of children and the names of the parents. Subsequent attendee pages do not duplicate information.
- Group: A dropdown of existing group names appears along with a box to begin a new group. This allows people to join a group registration. This group name is passed on to the attendee info pages, but no other information is replicated. An option for no group is also given.
No matter which option is choosen, an individual attendee record is created for each person. So for a couple registration, two records are created. For a Family, it is as many as are in the family. This keeps with the EventCORE underlying principle of one person per attendee record. This greatly aids in the management of housing, payments, unique items and travel information.
The End User Process
In the blue box on the home page, the end user is presented with a dropdown (designated by #1 below). When changed the page will repaint with additional fields. These fields are filled out and the "submit" button is hit.

The Initial Options Page
The next page you come to is where you fill out the critical information about your group. Most fields are required and once you hit submit this is the last time that you'll see this page. This creates the group and from here on out they remain as a group but each attendee is edited individually.
